Deeping's men's teams can offer hockey for all levels of ability.

The 1st XI retained their position in Div 2N last season, staying on the fringes of the elite East clubs after an up and down season. Mens 1st team actionThis year they will be led by Andy Kind in his first season as skipper. High quality players will find testing hockey in Division 2N and the 1st XI has playing opportunities in every position.

The 2nd XI went back to Div 4NW last season after a season plagued by injuries and lack of availability. This side offers an outlet for fit keen players of all ages, with the emphasis on fast-tracking the best young players in a good standard of hockey. Skipper Phil Tokens is also in his first season as second team skipper.

The 3rd XI maintained their 5NW status by winning a string of games late in the season. The team mixes veterans with the club’s youngsters. Currently led by long term skipper Kevin Baker (the 3rd XI captaincy is available) the emphasis will continue to be on four things - playing good hockey, developing the youngest players in the club; supplying good social hockey for casual or occasional players; and keeping our veterans in action..

Although the need to play on Astroturf pitches at times ranging from 10am to 4.30pm has stunted the social life of the average hockey player, Deeping’s men continue to lay heavy emphasis on the off-the-pitch side of the game.

Dinners and social events are laid on throughout the season and are usually well attended while the individual teams also enjoy their nights out in Deeping and Stamford. Visit the website regularly for further details.
