New members welcome
Our women's section was re-formed in 2004/5, with players of a wide age and ability range.
Described as "friendly but ambitious" the ladies took the Cambridge Ladies League Division 2 by storm and a close fought battle with Saffron Walden saw them finish in second place. This was good enough for promotion to Division 1 and left room in the 2nd division for a second Deeping Ladies Team. In fact the growth of the ladies section, at a time when clubs are shedding teams, has been phenomenal.
The 1st XI narrowly missed a second promotion last season and the 2nd XI, after a slow start, made their presence felt in Division 2 with some stunning victories. The ladies section of the club continues to grow by the day and welcomes all newcomers. Whether transferring from another club, taking up hockey for the first time or moving from or extending school hockey, both teams are always looking to increase their squad. As always with hockey, we are particularly looking for goalies...
The ladies team are also a social bunch so watch this space for more info on the next night out…
