Cambridge Ladies 2nd XI (2) vs Market Deeping Ladies 2nd XI (3)

Deeping reversed their recent league result against Cambridge ladies with yet another good performance, this time in the Cambridge Div 2 cup.
Despite the cold, Deeping got off to a hot start at Cambridge. Deeping won a short corner and the well-drilled routine from practice kicked in again as a strategically placed Nicky Buckby struck the ball first time into the back of the net. Debby Wilding then got the ball into the net but was denied by a premature whistle for a shot corner.
The second goal also came from Buckby, supported by the forward line,
 Debbie Wilding and Jo Addison both causing problems for Cambridge’s defence Jo Addison got the third as she pounced on the rebound from her own shot.
Deeping did concede a goal but the defence was sound with Debbie Bowen as ever showing her skills bringing the ball up the pitch.
Newcomer Jo Wardle helped plug any gaps in the defence, while in midfield Fay Shepherd consistently fed the ball to the forwards.
